Turbary Woods Owl & Bird of Prey Sanctuary 

With over 90 birds of prey - including owls, hawks, eagles this is a wonderful day out for everyone. Watch spectacular flying displays and get up close to these impressive birds. The sanctuary is run by volunteers and most of the birds have been rescued so it makes it even more special. 

East Lancashire Railway (ELR)

One of the things we love most about rail journeys is the way they seem to slow down time. Exactly what you want on holiday! 

The ELR starts just over an hour away from Wigwam Holidays Kidsnape Farm, but this is a must-do experience if you love trains and interesting rail journeys. If relaxing and watching the scenery unfurl between towns, villages and hamlets aren’t enough to convince some of your party to join you - entice them with a themed trip!  Beer and ale aficionados might be interested in the real ale trail. The Wildlife Trust’s Brockholes Nature Reserve 

This is a beautiful day out for nature lovers. Over 250 acres of natural beauty and a wonderful floating visitor’s centre - this is the perfect spot to while away a few hours enjoying nature. Meander through the woodland paths or whizz along cycle paths. Picnic under the trees and play wildlife bingo with packs from the visitor centre. For something more energetic there’s a climbing forest and a zip wire - and when you’ve run out of energy, you can recuperate with a cup of tea and something tasty in the delicious cafe. Just 5 miles along the B6243 from Wigwam Holidays Kidsnape Farm you’ll be so happy you visited.
